Q. How do I get started on my fitness program?
A. We suggest you contact our service desk and set up a time with one of our Fitness Consultants to get started with our SmartStart program. This program is designed to assist members of all fitness levels with exercise, nutrition, diets and much more as they get started with their fitness program.
Q. How often should I exercise?
A. The American Counsel of Exercise suggest you exercise most days of the week. One On One suggests you strength train 2 - 3 days a week and add cardiovascular & recreational exercise sessions as often as possible.
Q. Will someone assist me with my workouts?
A. Our Circuit is designed so that a fitness instructor will assist you and all our members with your program. They will help with your seat heights, proper form, and motivation. This is not the same as personal training, which gives you one-on-one time with a trainer. The circuits are designed to give everyone assistance at the time most needed (at the beginning, or end of your workout) and be available at all times to all of our members. If you feel you need more one-on-one attention, we offer Personal Training for an additional fee. Check with us for the times the Circuit is running.
Q. How long before I see results?
A. The moment you start an exercise plan you are seeing some if not the full benefits of a structured fitness regimen. You will start to increase circulation, improved energy levels, have less backache, fewer headaches and burn calories. As far as the overall results of increasing strength, reducing inches, losing fat, etc...it will take at least 4-6 weeks of regular exercise - followed by continuous improvements.
Q. Why should I strength train? I just want to lose weight.
A. Strength Training (ST) is the foundation of a good body fat reduction program. ST will get bodyfat off you faster and help you keep it off better than cardio-vascular exercise (CVE). When you can combine the two, ST and CVE that is when your results really happen quickly!
Q. Do you offer beginner classes for aerobics, Spinning, Pilates or Yoga?
A. Yes, check our schedules monthly for new class times. Look for INTRO classes on the schedule.
Q. Why should a man take Yoga?
A. Most people don't realize that yoga builds strength, flexibility and muscle endurance. The most important of these three components for most men is flexibility. Men's muscles get very tight in the lower body's and back. Yoga is a great exercise to eliminate back and neck pain and ad flexibility (very important to all men). Did you know that many professional athletes take yoga! Yes, it is true!
Q. How do I get started again with my exercise program after a long layoff?
A. Just give us a call and ask for our Director of Fitness and he will gladly set you up with a trainer to establish a new program targeted towards your goals.
Q. What do I do if I want to bring a guest to the club?
A. Simply bring them in and all they need to do is complete a simple guest waiver form (1-minute) and they are responsible to pay our guest fee. We do not give out guest passes at the service desk or upon your request from membership. We mail guest passes out a couple times a year to our members and that is only way we distribute them to our membership.
